Business And Professional Achievements:
Gaby joined the second-generation family-owned business – Avante Insurance Agency after obtaining her property and casualty license in 1986. She became President of Avante in 2010 & merged with NEA Insurance Group in 2022 where she also serves as leader of the highly successful personal lines team for over 20 employees, who are mostly women.
Gaby has numerous professional achievements in her 38-year insurance career including – 1) Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter CPCU designation showcasing all facets of the insurance business 2) Gaby has served numerous positions in CPCU Society- Local Chapter President, Regional Governor-Southeast, Diversity & Nominating committees & currently serves as Chair of the Agent Brokers Interest Group, 3) Past President & Council President of the Latin American Association of Insurance Agencies, 4) Depopulation & Technical Advisory committees of Citizens Property & Casualty Insurance Corp-the largest insurer in the state of Florida.
Community Involvement:
Coral Gables Trustee & GEM Diplomat Chair. Also has served as Chamber Ambassador President of Toastmaster Local Doral Chapter Attends St Agatha’s Catholic Church & regularly donates her time & resources as a member of a church sponsored organization – Hope for the homeless preparing & serving sandwiches once a week to the homeless community.

Gaby’s visionary & leadership skills promote & inspire a positive learning environment at Avante-NEA Insurance Group where all employees (80% women) try to emanate her hard work & determination to continue to serve others. She works with customers to better understand their needs& provide excellent customer service & readily resolves conflicts while negotiating mutually beneficial agreements between parties. Gaby maintains her energy & enthusiasm in a fast-paced environment and easily develops & maintains courteous & effective working relationships.
Additional Activities:
Gaby attended Miami Dade College where she received her Associate of Arts degree in Computer Programming. She is spiritually inspired to help the underprivileged Cuban community by providing medicines, toiletries & food along with hope & comfort through Emausin Cuba Foundation & she currently serves as its President.
